In theory yes, but say we slightly err on the overfold side, due to the fact that your hand is still hidden, it might take v a whole lot of time to realize you're overfolding, especially in 6max games where these spots don't turn up that often. It's a data issue - you don't get enough sampling.
On the other hand, overfolding has a real benefit of significantly reducing variance.

The real issue comes when v is actually *not* well balanced, in which case overfolding can be a disaster.

So to sum up:

1. if v is well-balanced, overfolding is not as big an issue.
2. if v is not well-balanced, it could be disaster.

quite the opposite from your original proposition.
